We are currently seeking a Bioinformatician / Immunoinformatician with strong coding and data analytical skills to work on next generation vaccines against infectious diseases!

This is a unique opportunity to become part of our rapidly growing, exciting and dedicated Vaccibody team. You will gain knowledge from and take an active part in advancing the Vaccibody vaccine-development at one of Scandinavia´s leading Biotech companies. 


About the role 

You will work with a team of talented scientific experts with focus on the analysis of proprietary and public high throughput immunological and omics data to identify effective immune targets for a new generation of therapeutic and prophylactic vaccines. Moreover, you will:


  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team of experts (bioinformaticians, biostatisticians, software engineers and immunologists) to further develop our programs on infectious disease vaccines 
  • Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines for high-quality production-ready analysis
  • Analyze and handle proprietary clinical/preclinical data, as well as public ‘omics data to:
    - Support development of vaccines that include relevant and effective immune targets for selected pathogens
    - Provide supporting data for preclinical experiments 
    - Identify biomarkers to support the selection of target patient populations for the development of clinical studies
    - Organize proprietary and public data to provide a framework for robust and reproducible data analysis
    - Prepare presentations and documentations for internal teams and external collaborators 


Key qualifications: 

  • MSc/PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational biology, or relevant discipline. 
  • Experience with sequence alignment algorithms, comparative genomics and genetic diversity, preferably within the infectious disease field. 
  • Experience with analysis of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and/or immunomics data. 
  • Experience with data collection and handling from various data resources e.g. NCBI, IEDB, PDB, ENA, etc. 
  • Knowledge of programming languages, i.e. Python and R, and Unix / high-performance computing environment, including software development practices such as version control.  


The role will report to Assistant Director, Head of Bioinformatics. 

Location: The candidate can be positioned in Forskningsparken/Oslo Science Park, or the Medicon Valley region of Copenhagen/Malmo
